The No.12 features a compact, crescent-shaped blade with a sharp inner curve. It is often employed for cutting sutures and is also used in procedures such as arteriotomies (incision of an artery), parotid surgeries (involving facial salivary glands), mucosal incisions during septoplasty (nasal septum repair), cleft palate surgeries, ureterolithotomies (removal of stones from the ureter), and pyelolithotomies (incision of the kidney's renal pelvis to remove stones, also known as pelviolithotomy). The No.12 is compatible with Handles 3, 3L, 3 Graduated, 5B, 7, 9, B3, and B3L.
