Glucose and Lactate Measurement
BD Vacutainer® glucose tubes with Sodium Fluoride EDTA. In unpreserved blood samples, glucose levels drop rapidly post-collection due to cellular metabolism. The additives in BD Vacutainer® Fluoride/EDTA tubes inhibit enzymatic processes in the glycolytic pathway.
HbA1c Measurement
A key benefit of the Fluoride/EDTA tube compared to the Fluoride Oxalate tube is the ability to measure the HbA1c marker from the same sample, eliminating the need for an additional tube.
Centrifugation Guidelines:
≤1300 g for 10 minutes at 18-25°C
