FERNO PXB Pool Extraction Board. Faster & Safer Extraction For Swimming Pools.
The Ferno PXB Pool Extraction Board has been developed with the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS UK) for faster and safer casualty extraction for swimming pool lifeguards. The board requires just two trained operators to carry out a pool rescue, quickly and safely, from deck-level pools or pools with a freeboard up to 30cm in height.
Lifeguards can perform a significantly faster but controlled shallow water, deep-water, deck-level or free-board pool rescue, with reduced injury risk to themselves and improved safety for the casualty. The Ferno PXB board has a maximum load capacity of 182kg/28 stone.
The Ferno PXB Pool Extraction Board is supplied fully complete with head block and colour coded restraint straps.
Designed For The Rapid Removal of Swimmers.
The Ferno PXB Pool Extraction Board is purposely designed for the rapid removal of swimmers that have either gotten into difficulty or have been taken ill whilst in the pool. The board also enables the safe immobilisation and extraction of suspected spinal injury casualties. An incorporated anchor mat at the head-end of the board enables increased stability.
The neutral-buoyancy of the PXB board ensure thats the casualty can be held on the water surface without the need for any floatation devices. The five restraint straps are made from a durable polypropylene material, incorporating an easy-to-operate fixation system using specially developed anti-bacterial VELCRO®. The head blocks also contain anti-bacterial additives for superlative infection control.
Durable edge-stitched Neoprene anti-slip mat is specifically designed for use in water. The rubberised anchor mat ensure thats safe and effective stabilisation of the board to the pool-side, when in operation. The board underside is crafted to give a firm anchor against the poolside whilst the casualty is being brought onto the board and immobilised.
Basic Operating Instructions.
- One operator can securely hold the PXB Board to the side of the pool by kneeling on the anchor mat, whilst keeping the board held into the water at an angle
- The second operator then brings the casualty onto the board
- Once the casualty is safely on the board, the casualty can then be secured using the five restraint straps
- The casualty can then be quickly and safely dragged out of the pool using the Anchor mat as a dedicated drag handle
