Sorbsan Ribbon is a sterile, non-woven dressing made from calcium alginate, featuring a high concentration of Mannuronic acid and a low concentration of Guluronic acid.
Similar to Sorbsan Flat, Sorbsan Ribbon's fibers expand and transform into a Sodium-Calcium alginate gel upon contact with wound exudate. This gel:
- creates an optimal moist environment for wound healing
- adapts to the wound's shape
- ensures painless removal
- is easily removed by rinsing with a saline (0.9%) solution
- supports haemostasis
- reduces disturbance to newly developed tissue
