The versatile suture with moderate absorption duration
PGA RESORBA is crafted from a braided polymer of glycolic acid. The PGA RESORBA filaments are extruded with a diameter of 0.015 mm, then bundled and braided to minimize capillary action. This process creates a soft and flexible braided thread. A specialized Resolactone coating is applied in a thin layer around the fiber bundles.
The linear, high-molecular glycolic acid is synthesized with a catalyst. Decomposition to CO2 occurs in the tissue through water absorption during metabolism.
