SILK is produced from the cocoon of the silkworm. The braided SILK suture material is extracted by degumming the fine cocoon threads (= removal of the putty-like substance sericin). These threads are then, spun, precision-braided, and their surfaces impregnated to prevent any unwanted wick effect.
SILK is a non-capillary, hydrophobic thread with a smooth surface. Silk, which is unsurpassable in terms of its softness and flexibility, is particularly suitable for the sensitive oral area.
