Ointment dressings with silver are crafted from a hydrophobic polyamide lattice tulle, featuring fibers coated with elemental silver. These dressings exhibit antimicrobial properties effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. They are infused with a neutral ointment base, free from vaseline or other paraffins, allowing exudate to pass through. The dressings are exceptionally soft, drapable, and non-adherent to wounds, maintaining effectiveness over extended use without causing sensitization or allergic reactions, and providing antimicrobial protection for up to 7 days.
The ointment base comprises:
A blend of natural or plant-based fatty acid esters, combined as di- and triglycerides, Macrogol 2000.
Atrauman AG is designed for gentle wound care across all healing stages, suitable for cuts, lacerations, abrasions, leg ulcers, pressure sores, burns, scalds, chemical burns, radiation burns, abscesses, boils, carbuncles, panaritia, and for covering donor and recipient sites in skin grafting after plastic and cosmetic surgery, nail removal, phimosiectomy, etc. The non-medicated ointment base also makes Atrauman AG ideal for dermatological use, particularly for patients with sensitive skin.
