Ointment dressings infused with silver, crafted from a hydrophobic polyamide lattice tulle, featuring fibers coated with elemental silver; they exhibit antimicrobial properties against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. These dressings are saturated with a neutral ointment base, free from vaseline or other paraffins, allowing exudate to pass through. They are exceptionally soft, highly conformable, and do not adhere to wounds. Effective for extended use, they are non-sensitizing and non-allergenic, maintaining their antimicrobial efficacy for up to 7 days.
The ointment base comprises:
A blend of natural or plant-derived fatty acid esters, structured as di- and triglycerides, along with Macrogol 2000.
Atrauman AG is designed for gentle wound care across all healing stages, suitable for cuts, lacerations, abrasions, leg ulcers, pressure sores, burns, scalds, chemical burns, radiation burns, abscesses, boils, carbuncles, paronychia, and for covering donor and recipient sites in skin grafting after plastic and cosmetic surgery, nail removal, circumcision, etc. The non-medicated ointment base makes Atrauman AG ideal for dermatological use, particularly for patients with sensitive skin.
