H-F/HF Antidote Gel is formulated with Calcium Gluconate and is designed to treat skin burns caused by Hydrofluoric Acid exposure. This gel helps to prevent calcium depletion from the affected area, thereby minimizing damage to bones and deep tissues.
Research has demonstrated that rinsing the affected skin with water for one minute followed by gently massaging the HF antidote gel into the area until pain subsides is the most effective initial treatment for Hydrofluoric Acid burns.
The gel's calcium gluconate content reacts with HF to create insoluble Calcium Fluoride, effectively stopping calcium loss from body tissues and bones.
