Available in three distinct models: Braithwaite, Cobbett, and Watson, these Stainless Steel Handles are designed for use with sterile 158mm Skin Graft Blades to facilitate the harvesting of "Macro" or "Major" Skin Grafts. Each handle features an adjustable guard that controls the maximum thickness of the graft, tailored to the skin characteristics at the donor site, which can vary due to factors such as the patient's age.

The precise thickness of the graft is influenced by:

1) The angle of contact between the blade and skin during harvesting;
2) The amount of pressure exerted by the operator on the handle during the procedure.

The Cobbett Handle (1968 J. Cobbett) addresses the issue of drag while preventing skin from rolling around the guard. The guard moves back and forth without rotating. The Braithwaite Handle was enhanced by creating a "D" section instead of a circular hole at the guard end of one cam lever and grinding a matching flat on the side of the guard's end. This modification reduces drag and prevents the skin from rolling up on the guard.
