Cryospray 59 operates on the concept that living cells subjected to rapid freezing experience initial damage and eventually perish due to the freezing process.
Current understanding suggests that the speed of cooling and thawing is responsible for this effect, rather than the specific temperature reached, as most cells cannot adapt swiftly enough to withstand the abrupt temperature shift.
It is likely that cell membranes are compromised during freezing, leading to the release of cellular contents and viral antigens. This release is detected by immune cells, potentially triggering an immune response that aids in the reduction of plantar warts.
Cryospray 59 is engineered to lower tissue temperatures to approximately -50°C for optimal effectiveness. Alternative cryogenic methods, such as liquid nitrogen, can decrease tissue temperatures to -185°C, which may cause significant discomfort.
