PureLight® Technology

Reliable & Precise SpO2 Measurements
PureLight® sensors emit a pure, high-intensity light spectrum to ensure consistent readings across different patients and sensors.

The PureLight® Concept
Red and infrared LEDs are crucial for pulse oximetry sensors.

  • The red LED detects deoxygenated hemoglobin
  • The infrared LED detects oxygenated hemoglobin

Standard red LEDs may emit secondary emissions (contamination)

  • Contamination affects the measurement of oxygenated hemoglobin
  • LED contamination can alter an oximeter's calibration curve, leading to inaccurate SpO2 readings below 80%

PureLight® red LEDs emit only the pure light spectrum

  • PureLight® LEDs prevent shifts in the oximeter's calibration curve at SpO2 levels below 80%
