PGA RESOQUICK is a braided suture crafted from the polymer of glycolic acid.
Each filament of PGA RESOQUICK is extruded with a diameter of 0.015 mm, then stretched into bundles and braided to minimize capillary action. This process creates a soft and flexible braided suture. A specialized Resolactone coating is applied in a thin layer around the fiber bundles.
The linear, high-molecular glycolic acid is synthesized with the aid of a catalyst. Unlike PGA Resorba, the enhanced absorption rate is achieved through a modified manufacturing process. The rapid breakdown to CO2 in tissues is facilitated by water uptake during metabolism with PGA RESOQUICK.
The suture coating provides excellent handling characteristics and minimizes tissue trauma by reducing surface friction.
