PGA RESOQUICK is a braided suture crafted from the polymer of glycolic acid.
Each filament of PGA RESOQUICK is extruded to a diameter of 0.015 mm, then bundled and braided to minimize capillary action. This process creates a soft and flexible braided suture. A specialized Resolactone coating is applied as a thin layer around the fiber bundles.
The linear, high-molecular glycolic acid is synthesized with a catalyst. Unlike PGA Resorba, the enhanced absorption rate is achieved through a modified manufacturing process. The rapid conversion to CO2 in tissues is facilitated by PGA RESOQUICK through water uptake during metabolism.
The suture coating provides excellent handling characteristics and minimizes tissue trauma by reducing surface friction.
